Gaspesian Midget Tournament
1.00 Affiliation and classification
   
1.01
The Gaspesian Midget Tournament is sanctioned by Hockey Québec and
Hockey Canada and only affiliated teams may take part.
   
1.02
The tournament includes midget CC and midget A categories and only those
teams or the equivalent will be accepted.
   
1.03
Teams are assured a minimum of three (3) games.
   
2.00 Necessary documents
   
2.01
All teams must supply the following documents:
   
A. The schedule of the league where they play as well as tournament games.

B. The team's player registration form approved by their league or association
registrar.

C. The score sheet from the team's last five (5) games. (regular season,
tournament and playoff).

D. A travel permit from the section or association they belong to.

E. A proof of identity for each player (on request).
 
3.00 Games
   
3.01
Before each game, each player must sign the signature sheet provided by the
tournament.
   
3.02
All games in the preliminary round will consist of a five (5) minute warm up,
followed by three (3) twelve (12) minute (stop time) periods. The ice will be
resurfaced every two (2) periods of play. When the ice is not resurfaced, there
will a two (2) minute intermission between periods.
   
3.03
The final only in each category will consist of three (3) fifteen (15) minute periods
(stop time). The ice will be resurfaced after each period.
   
3.04
In the preliminary round, there will be no overtime in case of a tie. Two (2)
points will be awarded for a win, one (1) for a tie and none (0) for a loss (plus
Fair Play points, if applicable).
   
3.05
Home teams in the preliminary round are predetermined. In playoff rounds,
home teams as well as the match ups will be determined by standings.
   
3.06
In case of a difference of seven (7) goals after the second period, the remainder
of the game will be played straight time, even if the difference becomes less.

If both teams agree, or if decided by the tournament committee, the game may
be stopped.
   
3.07
A thirty (30) second time out is allowed each team, in each game. (except
during straight time (Hockey Quebec rule 3.07).
   
3.08
If a tie occurs between two or more teams, all teams involved in the tie are
subject to the following criteria until such time as the team to be placed first
amongst tied teams is determined:

Once the position of the first team has been determined in the standings, the
procedure must be repeated from Step “A” to determine further tie situations.


Standings are determined in accordance with the following criteria:

A)
The most points.

B) The most wins.

C) The result of the game(s) between thw teams involved (victoires).

Note 1: Applies only to teams having played each other within the same
section.

D) The best plus/minus differential : the total of goals for, minus the total of goals
against, dof all games.

Note 2: Should a team not appear for a game, the number of “Goals For” and
“Goals Against” in games played by other teams against such absent team
shall not be included in the computation.

E) The team having scored the fastest goal in all games played.

F) The team having accumulated the most Fair Play points.

G) Coin flip.

Note 3: In cases where a team has not showed up for a game, all games played
against such team by other teams will not be taken into account.
   
3.09
In case of a tie in playoff games (except the finals in each division), there will
be a five (5) minute over time period played with each team having four (4)
skaters plus a goalie, with the first goal ending the game.  à quatre (4) contre
quatre (4) (plus les gardiens de but), le premier but mettant fin à la partie. If the
game is still tied after this five (5) minute overtime period, the “shoot-out”
procedure shall apply as described in Article 9.7.2.
   
3.10
During semi-final and final games of any Hockey Quebec sanctioned
tournament, should the score be tied after regulation time after ‘Franc Jeu’
points have been tallied, there shall be overtime as follows:

A. There shall be a single overtime period lasting 10 minutes with stopped time.
A line-up of 4 skaters and 1 goalkeeper will be used by each team except when
penalties must be served in accordance with playing rules or for the application
of ‘Franc Jeu’ regulations. The first goal legally scored ends the game;

B. If the game remains tied after this five (5) minute overtime period, the “shoot-
out” procedure shall apply as described in Article 9.7.2.
   
4.00 Game rules
   
4.01
Hockey Québec rules will be applied.
   
4.02
Players must wait until the ice surfacer's doors are closed and the officials are
on the ice before going onto the ice. Teams at fault will be assessed a two
minute minor penalty.
   
4.03
At the discretion of the referee, a ten (10) minute misconduct penalty will be
assessed along with any other applicable penalties, to player(s) judged to be
the instigators or attempting to instigate a fight or an altercation after the
whistle.
   
4.04

5.00 Miscellaneous
   
5.01
Any player or team member displaying prejudicial conduct will be expelled from
the tournament.
   
5.02
Teams are responsible for any damage caused by one of it's members to the
installations or equipment used by the tournament.
   
5.03
The organizing committee reserves the right to decide on matters not covered
by the present document, and to add, remove or modify any rule it deems
necessary. Teams will be notified in writing. All decisions taken by the
committee are final and without appeal.
   
5.04
All games will be viewed by an off-ice official appointed by the tournament and
Hockey Gaspésie-the-Islands, and any infractions which warrants suspension
or other disciplinary measures will be punsished even if no penalty was given.
   
6.00 Organizing committee
   
6.01
The organizing committee, with the participation of the Hockey
Gaspésie-les-Îles represenatative, reserves the right to add, change or
remove any rule judged necessary to ensure the smooth running of the
tournament.
